McCain’s Ship Going Down Fast…

mccain_0702.jpg

Several of John McCain’s campaign staff will step down Monday in light of yesterday’s arrest of Bob Allen, John McCain’s campaign co-manager in Florida and a lack of operating funds. Unconfirmed reports say McCain’s campaign has only $250,000 left. The McCain campaign has no comment on the latest financial troubles, which will raise new speculation about McCain’s viability. Campaign officials are expected to release details about the campaign’s financial situation early next week. However, as mentioned in my last post, I believe the train has ground to a halt or will do so very soon.

McCain’s troubles are rooted in his support for the Iraq war and democrats should wise up to the fact that any politician who continues to support this war may very well suffer similar consequences – and that includes Hillary Clinton. The fact that Obama has been able to raise significant money through July 10th, outpacing Clinton by almost 15%, smacks of an undercurrent of support that will punish those who are too stubborn to listen.
